In a speech reported by the Georgia Today portal, Kobajidze reiterated that his party “has a responsibility to all the people of Georgia, and especially to its million voters, to fulfill its campaign motto: ‘Towards Europe with peace, dignity and prosperity.

The prime minister has insisted that these protests are “artificial obstacles” coming from “a domestic opposition and European officials” and that his government has worked tirelessly over the last year and a half to guarantee Georgia’s status as a candidate.

In this sense, Kobajidze has defended the victory that, for him, represented snatching the accession negotiations from those forces that have used it as an instrument of blackmail and destabilization.”
