Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, has assured that he has observed in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a certain openness” about the idea of ​​​​forcing the migration of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

“I am working hard with the prime minister to promote the promotion of migration from Gaza and I am beginning to discover some openness in the matter,” Ben Gvir said, speaking to Galatz, the Israeli Army radio.

Ben Gvir has explained that the option of settlements, although welcome, does not completely satisfy him. “The only times we defeated our enemies was when we took territory from them,” he emphasized.

The minister has also highlighted the need to continue with the offensive on the Gaza Strip, where there are already nearly 44,400 dead and more than 105,100 injured since the beginning of the military operation in response to the attack by Hamas and other militias of the October 7, 2023.

“We have a historic opportunity to overthrow Hamas. We have a historic opportunity to restore deterrence, reoccupy the Gaza Strip and encourage voluntary emigration. This is what will bring peace to the south,” he said.

The idea of ​​forcing the Palestinian population to leave Gaza has been defended by the most far-right sectors of the Government since the beginning of the attacks, although Netanyahu has assured that it is outside the objectives of the war.
