MADRID Dec. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least two people have died and two have been injured this Saturday in an attack attributed to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on the south of Lebanese territory despite the ceasefire in force, agreed at the beginning of the week between the Army Israeli and the Shiite militia party Hezbollah, as reported by the Lebanese state news agency.

“The representative of the National News Agency (NNA) reported that a march raid targeted the town of Rab Thalathin, resulting in two martyrs and two injuries,” NNA stated.

Also, they have reported, there have been bombings against the city of Taybeh.

This Saturday, the Emergency Operations Center also highlighted on the official profile of the Lebanese Ministry of Health on social networks that three people had been injured in an alleged attack by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), including a seven-year-old minor. , when they were aboard a vehicle in the Majdal Zoun area, in the south of the country.

Israel and Hezbollah reached an agreement on Tuesday for a ceasefire of about 60 days, which stipulates that both the Islamist group and Israeli troops must leave southern Lebanon in favor of the country’s regular army, which must take up positions in the area to guarantee the security of northern Israel.

However, both Hezbollah and Israeli authorities have accused each other of breaking the ceasefire. The Israeli Army, in fact, has reported in recent days several operations against Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon.

The resurgence of hostilities in Beirut and southern Lebanon is part of the clashes that began more than a year ago after Hezbollah attacked Israel a day after the offensive of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on October 7, 2023. which left almost 1,200 dead and 240 hostages and served as a trigger for the current war in the Middle East.

On October 1, the IDF unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon after weeks of intense bombing and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of beepers and walkie-talkies linked to Hezbollah.

The attacks on Lebanon have left a provisional toll of nearly 4,000 dead and 16,500 injured, including the historic leader of Hezbollah, Hasan Nasrallah, killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut at the end of September. Israel has put the number of Hezbollah members killed in its attacks at around 2,500.
