Why Liam Payne was trying to escape from his hotel room balcony before dying
According to information from hotel staff, the singer had threatened to use the balcony to escape from his room, since apparently one of his biggest phobias was being in lonely rooms. It was Geoff Payne, the musician’s father, who revealed that he always feared his son being alone in hotel rooms since it was one of his biggest fears. TMZ He pointed out that this fear arose when the artist was part of One Direction, since at that time he was confined after his concerts as a security measure.
“My dad said it from day one: lonely hotel rooms, man, being locked in that room is no fun when you’ve been exposed,” Liam said in 2021 for “The Diary of a CEO” podcast.
According to different reports, Liam was about to get out of his room with the help of a garden hose but unfortunately he slipped and finally fell from the third floor of the Hotel CasaSur Palermo.
For his part, regarding this escape attempt, The mirror said the former boy band member “was found with a bag that was not present when he was taken to his room from the hallway. “Liam may have planned his descent in stages, as a guest on the second floor of the hotel discovered a leather bag containing pills, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and a note labeled ‘for Liam’ on his balcony.”
