MADRID 24 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least 350 people have already been arrested in Pakistan since the beginning a few hours ago of the new popular caravan organized to demand the release of the great opposition leader and former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan.

The “convoy” is approaching the country’s capital, Islamabad, led by Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and the chief minister of the state of Khíbert Pakhtunjua and a leading figure in the former president’s party, Ali Amin Gandapur.

The city is now full of police officers while the authorities have partially suspended communications in some neighborhoods of the metropolis, where the right to assembly for more than five attendees has been suspended, according to a statement from the security forces.

Police have arrested 350 supporters and affiliates of Khan’s party, the Pakistan Justice Movement, including local leaders such as Nafisa Khattak, as well as a nephew and brother-in-law of the party’s Islamabad branch president, Amir Mughal. , the security forces have confirmed to the newspaper ‘Dawn’.

This new protest is becoming the largest since the current Prime Minister, Shebhaz Sharif, took power in February. His brother, Nawaz, also a former president, is considered by Jan to be his political nemesis and responsible for a persecution against him, orchestrated for purely political reasons, which has led him to prison for no reason.

Jan faces a multitude of cases (more than 150) for corruption and inciting violence during his stay in power. Each time a court has released him, the Government has resorted to another investigation to keep him behind bars, in a cycle that has now lasted more than a year.
