Nov. 22 (Portaltic/EP) –

WhatsApp is incorporating a new functionality into its service that allows you to transcribe voice messages in different languages and maintains end-to-end encryption, which is already common in the instant communication platform developed by Meta.

Meta recognizes that while voice memos help users connect more personally with friends and family, sometimes they are not easy to hear. because they are too long or for receiving them in situations where there is a lot of noise.

For this reason, it has developed a feature that allows transcribe personal voice messages on the device itself, a feature that will maintain end-to-end encryption protection, meaning no one can see, hear or read them.

This functionality can be used in the ‘Chats’ section, within the ‘Settings’ configuration and after activating the ‘Voice message transcriptions’ button. Likewise, it is necessary to keep the voice message pressed for the option to appear ‘Transcribe’.

Transcriptions will be implemented all over the world over the next few weeks, both on iOS and Android and in different languages. In the version of WhatsApp for the Google operating system it will be available in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian.

For its part, iOS 16 will also support them, along with Italian, and Japanese. Korean, Chinese, Turkish and Arabic. For iOS 17 and later versions, the arrival of Danish, Finnish, Hebrew, Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish, Thai and Malay is expected.
