The Israeli Army has accused this Saturday the Lebanese militia party Hezbollah of being behind the attack against a base of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the Lebanese town of Shama, in which four ‘blue helmets’ were killed. injured.
As noted, the attack was carried out from the town of Deir Qanoun En Nahr, in Tyre, from where several launches were carried out. “As a result of the impact, several UNIFIL soldiers who were at the outpost were injured,” the Israeli security forces said in a statement.
“This is a new attack by the terrorist organization Hezbollah against UNIFIL posts after a few days ago it attacked force posts in the regions of Shama and Ramyeh.
UNIFIL itself indicated on Friday that “the rockets, probably fired by Hezbollah or affiliated groups, hit a bunker and a logistics area used by the international Military Police, causing significant damage to nearby infrastructure.”
The event takes place just three days after four Ghanaian UNIFIL ‘blue helmets’ were injured by the impact of a projectile possibly launched by Hezbollah at one of its bases. In addition, five other projectiles hit the aforementioned military base in Shama, an incident that left no victims.
