MADRID 15 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Lebanese health authorities reported this Friday that the death toll from the Israeli Army’s attacks against the country has now exceeded 3,400 dead, while the number of injured is already around 14,600 after a particularly violent last day.
Specifically, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has highlighted that in the last 24 hours, 59 people have died and another 182 have been injured. The most affected area is the northeast of the country, where the Baalbek-Hermel governorate is located, a region in which 28 people died and another 55 were injured in the last day.
The rest of the affected regions are the governorate of Nabatiye, with 15 dead and 59 injured; the Southern governorate, with another 14 dead and 65 injured; the governorate of Bekah, where Israeli attacks caused at least two deaths; the governorate of Mount Lebanon, where at least three people have been confirmed injured.
Of the total number of deaths, more than 2,400 are men, while another almost 670 are women and more than 220 are children. On the other hand, the high number of injuries is due in part to the coordinated explosion of communication devices that surprised the Lebanese population at the beginning of September.
According to figures shared by Lebanese health authorities on their social networks, a total of 208 health personnel have died as victims of the Israeli attacks, while more than 310 others have been injured. On the other hand, at least 130 health facilities have suffered damage.
The Israeli Army unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon on October 1 after several weeks of intense bombings and attacks against the country, including the aforementioned coordinated explosion of thousands of ‘pagers’ and ‘walkie-talkies’ linked to Hezbollah, after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah in the border area.
The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes that began more than a year ago, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory a day after the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, which led Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip, where more than 43,700 people have already died.
