The “Calm Down” singer, 32, reflected on the impact of being a child star while answering a question about what she wishes she had known before entering show business in an interview with Elle published on Thursday.
“I have no regrets and I have a fantastic family and my parents made rules and I appreciate that,” she told the outlet. “However, I don’t think I would have done it very young if I were thinking about myself now.”
Gómez explained that there were “many things” for which she “felt stunted.”
“Then adding a lot of pressure from a lot of people didn’t help me develop a sense of identity in my twenties,” he said. “It was a very difficult moment. “I live with it every day.”
The pop star admitted that she tries to look at the glass half full and focus on the projects she loves.
