MADRID 13 Nov. () –
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has assured that Donald Trump’s victory in the recent United States presidential elections will not change Washington’s position regarding the war in Ukraine.
Lavrov considers that this responds to the United States’ interest in “keeping under control” everything that happens both within the European Union and NATO and its surroundings, although he has not ruled out doing so in “different ways.”
“I have no doubt,” he said in an interview for Russian television.
Lavrov’s statements take place amidst the promises of a Trump who has boasted several times during the election campaign, and even long before, of being able to end the war quickly before even taking office.
Likewise, there is fear within Ukraine and among its partners that with the Republican in the White House he will also significantly reduce economic and military support, thanks to which Ukrainian troops have managed to resist until now.
