Israel "completes another series of attacks" against Hezbollah "military headquarters" in Lebanon's capital

MADRID 13 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army has assured this Wednesday that it has “completed” another “series of attacks” against “military headquarters” and other objectives of the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah in the capital of Lebanon, Beirut, after the bombings carried out in recent hours against the city, with no information on victims for now.

“Air Force fighter jets, under the direction of the Intelligence Division, have completed another series of attacks in the Beirut area against weapons warehouses and military headquarters used by Hezbollah,” the Army said, stating that “are part of the damage to Hezbollah’s ability to carry out terrorist attacks.”

Thus, he stated that the bombings are also part of his attempts to “destroy the production sites and weapons warehouses that Hezbollah has established over the years in the heart of Beirut”, before reiterating that the group uses the population as ” human shields.”

“Before the attacks, many steps were taken to reduce the possibilities of causing harm to civilians,” he said, referring to the evacuation orders issued for the attacked areas, amid complaints about the large number of victims and the enormous destruction caused by their attacks against Lebanese territory.

Hours earlier, the Israeli Army had confirmed bombings during the night of Tuesday and the early hours of Sunday against “weapons warehouses” and “headquarters” of the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah in Beirut, while attacking “new objectives” of the group in the framework of the recent expansion of its operations in the south of the country.

Israel unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon on October 1 after several weeks of intense bombing and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of communication devices used by the Lebanese group, after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah in the border area. Lebanon has reported nearly 3,200 deaths since the outbreak of hostilities on October 8, 2023.

The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes that began more than a year ago, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory following the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions, which led to Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip, where more than 43,700 people have already died.
