At least two people have died in the city of Nahariya, in northern Israel, due to the impact of several projectiles launched from Lebanese territory, as reported by the Red Star of David, the Israeli ambulance service.
Medical sources have indicated that the fatalities are two men around 40 years old, whose death has been confirmed by emergency services at the scene, shortly after the impact.
Likewise, two other 30-year-old men have been slightly injured by shrapnel in one after one of the launches. Previously, Israeli security forces had warned of the launch of a dozen projectiles from Lebanon, many of which have been intercepted by the country’s air defense system.
The Lebanese militia party Hezbollah began launching projectiles against northern Israel in October 2023 after the beginning of the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip, a day after 1,200 people were killed and 240 were kidnapped by the Resistance Movement. Islamic (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions on Israeli soil.
In this context, the Israeli Army unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon on October 1 after several weeks of intense bombings and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of communication devices, which has raised fears of a greater expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.
In parallel, the authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by Hamas, put the death toll at more than 43,650 since the beginning of the offensive against the enclave. Added to this balance are more than 750 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks carried out by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
