The New York congresswoman, the fourth-highest-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives, has been a strong ally of the president-elect and a major fundraiser for the Republican Party.

Her aggressive performance during the 2019 impeachment hearings made her a “Republican star,” as Trump himself said at the time. Trump selected former New York Rep. Lee Zeldin to serve as head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Zeldin announced he accepted the position.
