MADRID 11 Nov. () –
The Houthi rebels have denounced this Monday new bombings by the United States and the United Kingdom against two provinces in Yemen, without for the moment there being any information about victims and without these two countries having commented on these operations.
According to information provided by the Yemeni television network Al Masirah, linked to the group, the bombings have reached the town of Harf Sufian, in the province of Amran, and Safra, in Saada, both under rebel control.
The United States confirmed on Sunday that it had carried out several bombings on Saturday against alleged targets of the group in Yemen. Official sources cited by the television network stated that the places attacked were weapons warehouses used by the Houthis to attack ships in the region.
The Houthis, who have controlled the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and other areas of the north and west of the country since 2015, have launched several attacks against Israeli territory and against ships with some type of Israeli connection as a result of the offensive launched against Gaza after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
They have also attacked American and British ships and drones in response to the bombing of these countries against Yemen. Washington and London assure that they act to defend free navigation in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.
