Singer children’s rocka conservative firebrand and strong supporter of the president-elect donald trumpreleased a new video with an unexpectedly subdued reaction to last week’s election results.
The video begins with Slate calling it a “Kid Rock vs. Bob Ritchie,” referring to his stage name followed by his real name.
Kid Rock’s reaction is about what fans might expect: He comes out in a bright red tracksuit, puts on his own version of a MAGA hat, smokes a cigar, drops the microphone, grabs his crotch, and gives the finger to the camera, all without saying a word.
But Bob Ritchie, dressed in shorts and a simple T-shirt, is much more diplomatic and urges his fans not to boast.
“We must remember that most of our friends on the left are good people who want the same things in life as we do, but they just think differently about how to get there,” he said. “The time has come to be a bigger man, extend an olive branch and unite all the reasonable people of this great nation.”
The video continues to praise Trump and ends with an announcement of his 2025 concert tour:
According to the responses to the message on X, not all of his fans agree, and more than a few say they plan to gloat, at least a little.
“I’m part of the problem,” he said. “I am one of the polarizing people, without a doubt. Sometimes I complain about other people, then I look in the mirror and say, ‘Oh yeah, why don’t you shut up too?’”
