The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, had a telephone conversation last Thursday with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, about the situation in Ukraine, as revealed this Sunday by the American newspaper ‘The Washington Post’.

According to a source familiar with this conversation, Trump warned Putin not to aggravate the conflict and reminded him that the United States has a significant military presence in Europe.

“Several” sources cited by the newspaper indicate that they also spoke about peace in Europe and about a new call to continue talking about the solution to the war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian authorities were informed about the conversation in advance and did not raise any objection, according to the American newspaper.
