The brief communication from Biden’s Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, specifies that the meeting will take place at 11:00 am, without elaborating on details about the meeting.

These types of post-election meetings are traditional between the outgoing president and the incoming one. However, it is the first between the two, because Trump did not receive Biden after the Democrat won the elections against the Republican in 2020.

Biden was the main contender for now President-elect Trump in the race for the White House in 2024 until last July, when the veteran politician withdrew from the race and gave way to his vice president, Kamala Harris, who became the candidate. Harris lost the presidential election on November 5 to the Republican, who next January will become the second president in US history to serve two non-consecutive terms as head of state.
