At least twelve people have died and several dozen have been injured this Thursday in a new bombing carried out by the Israeli Army against a school located in the Al Shati refugee camp, located on the outskirts of Gaza City (north).
According to information collected by the Palestinian newspaper ‘Filastin’, linked to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in the facilities there were dozens of displaced people who had fled from other points in the north of the Strip due to attacks by the Israeli Army. .
Medical sources cited by the Palestinian news agency WAFA have indicated that the bombing against the school, affiliated with the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), has also left 30 injured, so it cannot be ruled out. that the number of deaths will increase in the coming hours.
The Israeli Army, which has not yet commented on this attack, launched more than a month ago a new ground offensive against northern Gaza, operations that have expanded in recent hours to the city of Beit Lahia, the scene of dozens of bombings in recent weeks.
In fact, the Arabic spokesman for the Israeli Army, Avichai Adrai, issued new evacuation orders this Thursday for several areas of northern Gaza, arguing that “terrorist organizations return (to the area) and fire rockets against the State again.” of Israel.”
“We inform you that the specified area is considered a dangerous combat zone, so for your safety, go immediately to the south,” he stated through his account on the social network X, where he attached a map of the areas. affected by these orders.
The United Nations and numerous non-governmental organizations have in the past criticized the Israeli authorities for the use of these evacuation orders in the context of the offensive against the Gaza Strip, arguing that they amounted to forced displacement.
The press office of the Gazan authorities reported on Monday the death of more than 1,800 Palestinians due to this new offensive, in which Israeli troops have also carried out attacks and raids against the few hospitals that remained moderately operational, including Kamal Aduan Hospital in Beit Lahia.
Israel’s offensive against Gaza was launched after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 against Israel by Hamas and other Palestinian groups, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities.
Since then, more than 43,400 Palestinians have died, as indicated by the Gazan authorities, in addition to more than 750 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks carried out by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since that date. .
