MADRID 6 Nov. () –
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, congratulated this Wednesday the Republican candidate for the White House, former President Donald Trump, for his “enormous victory” in the elections, after projections already put him as the next tenant of the House Blanca, in the absence of official confirmation.
“Congratulations to President Trump on his enormous victory,” Orbán said on his account on the social network X, where he also praised “the greatest comeback in American political history.” “A much-needed victory for the world,” he added.
Orbán, who heads the Hungarian presidency of the European Council, has thus become the first leader of a European Union (EU) country to congratulate Trump and the second in the world to do so, after the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele.
Trump himself has already declared his victory in the presidential elections and has celebrated that it represents a “historic moment” and the beginning of a “golden era” for the country. So far only the Fox News network has declared him the winner, although major media projections designate him as the virtual winner in the United States.
