MADRID 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Three Syrian refugees have been killed and three others have been injured in an attack by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) against the town of Burgholiyah, in southern Lebanon, raising the number of Syrian deaths in this country since the beginning to 216. of the Israeli invasion in mid-September, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights denounced this Wednesday.
The organization has registered 37 women and 52 children among the victims of Syrian nationality who have died at the hands of the Israeli Army in 50 days of the violent escalation in Lebanese territory.
With these numbers, the total number of Syrian refugees who have died in IDF attacks on Lebanese territory since the start of the offensive in the Gaza Strip, on October 8, 2023, rises to 232 people, including 40 women and 54 minors.
The data has been published on the Observatory’s website in which it condemns the attacks “against peaceful civilians”, especially the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, who “have no link with the Lebanese Hezbollah, and who are workers and displaced people who have been forced to leave their homeland” in relation to the civil war that broke out in March 2011.
The Observatory has called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene “immediately” to ensure the protection of civilians, guarantee safe corridors and urgent humanitarian aid to families affected by the Israeli attacks.
Likewise, he has requested that the return to Syria of nationals residing in Lebanon “who are not concerned about arrests” be facilitated and that safe humanitarian corridors be guaranteed for those “who do not want to remain in areas controlled by the regime to other areas.” of influence” of the territory.
