MADRID 4 Nov. () –

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, reported this Monday that a Colombian citizen has died and four others are missing due to the effects of DANA in the Valencian Community, which has left more than 200 dead.

Petro has pointed out in a message on the social network days”.

The president has detailed that nearly 600 Colombians have received help – water, food, hygiene kits, clothing, blankets and basic necessities – from the diplomatic legation and has assured that they have reached “the areas most affected and difficult to access”, where there is no “presence” of local authorities.

Likewise, Petro has stressed that there are only four active Colombian officials responding to the emergency. “Others have been affected and we have not been able to count on them, including (a) legal advisor and (a) social worker,” he added.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luis Gilberto Murillo, expressed his solidarity for the calamity in a video on Saturday. “We have been able to serve nearly 200 Colombian nationals, fellow Colombians, who are in this very difficult, tragic moment, a moment of great difficulty,” he stated.
