MADRID 4 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The World Health Organization (WHO) has denounced this Monday a new attack against the Kamal Aduán Hospital, in the north of the Gaza Strip, which has injured six children.
“The third floor of the hospital has received a new impact in which six children who were patients have been injured. One of the children suffers a critical injury,” explained the director general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, through a message posted on your X account.
Tedros explained that the attack has caused damage to water tanks and that “intense shelling continues very close to the hospital, also when the WHO is delivering aid.”
“It is regrettable that Gaza hospitals continue to be attacked. Patients are injured and health and humanitarian workers continue to work in life-threatening conditions,” he added.
Tedros also publishes a statement from the WHO in which it highlights that the attack coincided with a delivery of enough medical and surgical material to carry out 7,000 interventions. It also delivered 150 units of blood, 20,000 liters of fuel, 60 boxes of dry food and water and transferred 25 patients and 37 companions to Al Shifa Hospital.
However, the WHO denounces, they could not deliver supplies to Al Shifa Hospital because it is prohibited by the Israeli authorities, which “could cause it to stop working.” “It is time to silence the shots and achieve peace!” concluded the international organization.
The total number of deaths since the beginning of the military offensive launched against the enclave after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Palestinian militias exceeds 43,300 and there are more than 102,100 injured, according to a latest report from the Gazan authorities.
