Samsung announces a new version of Tizen OS for its Smart TVs, also for these older televisions

Smart televisions are part of our home, and among the countless brands on the market, some such as Xiaomi, LG or Samsung stand out.

Samsung is betting heavily on its line of smart televisions, and a few hours ago announced a new cryptographic security feature called CryptoCorenot only for your smart TVs, but also for monitors and digital signage products.

This new security feature will make devices such as televisions much safer, and it has not arrived alone. They also revealed, although in the small print, the availability of a new version of the Tizen OS system.

Along with this announcement of the new security feature, the South Koreans confirmed a new operating system update, both for televisions and monitors.

In the announcement you can read that CryptoCore will be integrated into Tizen OS 9.0 in 2025so if you have a television from the South Korean brand, you are in luck.

However, there are many doubts about which Samsung television models will benefit from Tizen 9.0.

It should be noted that many 2023 Samsung smart TVs are waiting for the Tizen 8.0 update, which began to be implemented earlier this year in the 2024 models.

Considering that Tizen 8.0 is now coming to Samsung’s 2023 smart TVs, there are questions about which models will benefit from the new Tizen.

The South Koreans have not given any details about this, but it is normal to think that the 2025 line of smart TVs and monitors will benefit from Tizen 9.0.

Remember that Samsung has a 7-year update policy for its televisions launched from 2023 onwards.

Taking this into account that Tizen 9.0 should be available for the brand’s monitors and smart TVs in the future, Presumably this system will begin to be deployed at the end of 2025.
