Nov. 1 (Portaltic/EP) –
Microsoft has once again delayed the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered tool Recall for Copilot+ computers, which, although it had planned to launch in a preliminary version for Windows Insider in Octoberwill finally arrive on this program in December.
The company announced Recall in May of this year as a tool integrated into Copilot+ computers, which will use AI to take screenshots of the computer and thereby create a kind of ‘photographic memory’. With it, the user will be able to move through a timeline to find the content that has been searched previously, both in ‘apps’, as well as in documents or websites.
His announcement was controversialbecause it was understood that it could put users’ private information at risk, even though the collected database would be stored locally, that is, on the device itself, because these captures were stored as unencrypted data .
After updating the feature, disabling it by default, adding a Windows Hello login requirement, and offering the option to disable it from the operating system, among other changes, the month of October was set to launch a preview of Recall in the program. Windows Insider.
This has not been the case, since Microsoft has now announced a new delay in the deployment of its feature, as it has advanced The Verge. Specifically, he anticipates that he will finally reach this program in December of this year.
This extension is because the firm needs “additional time to fine-tune the experience” before offering it in preview. “We are committed to delivering a secure and reliable experience,” said Windows senior product manager Brandon LeBlanc.
