MADRID Nov. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army issued evacuation orders this Friday for residents in several neighborhoods located in the south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in the face of new bombings against the area, known as Dahiye, and in the midst of the invasion unleashed ago. already a month after nearly a year of fighting with the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah in the border area.

The Arabic spokesman for the Israeli Army, Avichai Adrai, has said that the message affects “all residents in the southern suburbs” and specifically those who live in several buildings in the neighborhoods of Haret Hreik and Tahuitat al Ghadir, whose position detailed in a map published on his account on the social network X.

“You are located near Hezbollah facilities and interests against which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will operate in the near future,” he said, referring to the fact that the Army plans to carry out new bombings against the area.

“For your safety and that of your family members, you must immediately evacuate these buildings and those adjacent to them and stay away from them at a distance of no less than 500 meters,” Adrai concluded, which implies an order for the evacuation of thousands of people in this densely populated area.

The interim prime minister of Lebanon, Nayib Mikati, stated on Thursday that the evacuation orders issued by the Israeli Army for dozens of Lebanese cities and towns as part of its attacks against the country represent “a war crime.”

Over the past month, Israeli authorities have issued evacuation orders for dozens of Lebanese cities, mainly in the south of the country. The United Nations and numerous non-governmental organizations have in the past criticized the Israeli authorities for the use of these evacuation orders in the context of the offensive against the Gaza Strip, arguing that they amounted to forced displacement.

The Government of Lebanon has put the death toll at more than 2,800 and around 12,800 injured due to the attacks carried out by Israel since October 8, 2023, after the militia party began firing projectiles in support of the Palestinian groups following the attacks carried out the day before against Israeli territory.
