Tomás Muniesa, new president of CaixaBank as of January 1

The board of directors of CaixaBank has agreed to appoint Tomás Muniesa as the new president of the entity as of next January 1, reported in a statement sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) this Wednesday.

Muniesa replaces José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, who has expressed his desire not to renew his mandate at the entity’s next General Meeting of Shareholders, and who has presented his resignation this Wednesday as executive president and director of CaixaBank as of 1 of January.

Muniesa’s appointment coincides with the change in functions of the president of the entity, who as of January 1 will not have executive functions.
