Xiaomi has updated its catalog of smartphones with the Xiaomi 15 series, which will arrive with the HyperOS 2 operating system, the software with which the company advances its smart connected ecosystem, which comes with interconnection between devices compatible with Apple and a smart assistant with memory.
HyperOS 2 is the new iteration of the operating system developed by Xiaomi and which replaces the MIUI customization layer since the Xiaomi 14 series. It also modifies the Android interface and is presented as a single platform with which it aims to unite its ecosystem of connected devices. , betting on intelligent connectivity and open source.
Xiaomi’s intention with HyperOS was to link “billions of devices and connections”, as the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, stressed in his presentation in October last year. Now, it advances this idea with HyperConnect, which integrates applications and hardware capabilities and opens its compatibility to Apple devices, as announced this Tuesday from China.
At the base of the system is HyperCore, which improves performance, quality and fluidity of graphics, WiFi, Bñuetooth and 5G connectivity even in blind spots, and security at the hardware chip level.
The software also introduces new features aimed at improving the user experience, such as moving images on the lock screen, dynamic wallpapers generated and animated by artificial intelligence, and new visual effects that help personalize the desktop. .
It also comes with HyperAI, the intelligent assistant with which Xiaomi intends to make their daily lives easier for users. To do this, Super Little AI – starting in December – learns and saves the user’s preferences to help them with reminders, while Super Xiao Ai helps in searching for content on the smartphone and makes it easier to fill out forms. It also anticipates the actions that the user has to take.
The AI-powered features are not limited to the assistant. HyperOS 2 comes with a series of tools to generate images, recognize sounds, improve text writing or translate meetings and videos. It also protects against fraudulent calls and video calls with manipulated images.
Xiaomi ensures that both the cloud and the device “are equally secure” and that the data is encrypted, since “all information follows a strict security and privacy architecture.”
MULTI-DEVICE
In line with the company’s intention to turn this software into the basis for a wide variety of devices, HyperOS 2 also introduces new features for the Chinese brand’s watches and televisions.
Thus, it introduces a new aesthetic to the brand’s compatible smartwatches and a restructured system experience. On televisions, add new screensavers and turn them into a control center.
AVAILABILITY
This new software will arrive with the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro smartphones and the Xiaomi Pad 7 and 7 Pro tablets from the factory, and can be installed on Xiaomi 13 Series and 14 Series, MIX Fold 3 and 4, MIX Flip, Redmi K 60 Series and K70 Series, Redmi Note 14 Series, Pad 6S Pro 12.4, Pad 6 Series, Redmi Pad Pro and Redmi Pad SE.
It will also be available as an update for the Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini LED 2025 and Redmi Smart TV X 2025 televisions. It will also be factory installed on the Xiaomi Watch S4 and as an update for the Xiaomi Mi Band 9 Pro.
The company will continue with previous mobile phone and tablet models in the first months of 2025.
