Shortly after announcing its release date, November 5, the turn-based RPG Metal Slug Tactics is back in the news for three reasons: it has shown a trailer with about 20 minutes of gameplaythe publisher Dotemu has confirmed that the game developed by Leikir Studio will be available from day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and there will be editions in physical format (standard, deluxe and collector) for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch by Pix’n Love.

The generous new gameplay trailer for Metal Slug Tactics focuses on the latest three heroes who have confirmed their presence in the game. These are Clark Still and Ralf Jones, the two members of Ikari Warriors, an SNK arcade game, and Leona Heidern, who joined the team when it debuted in The King of Fighters saga. The three have already been seen previously in the Metal Slug series, so their presence in this installment will not be completely strange for those who have played Metal Slug 6 (2006) or Metal Slug XX (2009).

Clark Still is presented as a character who, thanks to his great strength and experience in wrestling, has the ability to relocate enemies on the map and inflict powerful damage on them that affects their status; Ralf Jones is a close-range combat specialist who can charge enemies head-on; and finally Leona Heidern is a renowned fighter capable of replacing fallen enemies with decoy allies, a skill that allows us to distract and overwhelm enemy forces on the battlefield.

In addition to showing the mechanics and gameplay of Metal Slug Tactics, the new trailer shows us the pixel art graphics that seek to pay tribute to the original game, the animations and a collection of nods to the veteran SNK saga. In the arcade Metal Slug was a run-and-gun that swallowed 25 peseta coins, but in Metal Slug Tactics it is a tactical role-playing game with strategic combat. The mission remains the same: finish once and for all with the irreducible General Donald Morden and his endless army.
