Chaos erupted at a Timothee Chalomet impersonator contest in Washington Square Park on Sunday when police stormed the event, calling it an unlawful assembly.
At least one shaggy-haired Chalamet lookalike was handcuffed by police as the crowd chanted, “Let him go!”
Dozens of the crowd headed to Mercer Playground after the crowd dispersed, where more than a half-dozen remaining Chalamet hopefuls launched into rounds of speed dating with female admirers.
The unusual contest was announced earlier this month and included a $50 prize for the Hollywood heartthrob’s double.
Chalamet is best known for his starring roles in “Call Me by Your Name,” “Dune” and, most recently, “Wonka.”
