MADRID 27 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Iranian president, Masud Pezeshkian, reproached the United States this Sunday for failing to fulfill its “promise” to end the Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon in exchange for the “containment” of Iran.

“If the aggression and crimes of the Zionist regime continue, tensions will increase. We know that the United States is provoking Israel to commit these horrendous crimes. They promised to end the war in exchange for containing Iran, but unfortunately they have not followed through. his promise,” Pezeshkian said during the Council of Ministers held this Saturday and reported by the Iranian news agency Mehr.

Pezeshkian has stressed that Iran does not want war, but that it will “defend its rights” in the face of the “aggression of the criminal Zionist regime” against the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“From today the crimes of the Zionist regime are demonstrated to the entire world,” he stated. “Those who support this criminal regime led by the United States talk about human rights and freedom, but remain silent in the face of the bloodshed and murder of tens of thousands of innocent women and children at the hands of this savage regime,” he denounced.

The Iranian president has questioned whether “were these children terrorists?” “Is preventing the passage of food and medicine to the oppressed in Gaza in the principles of war and the civilized world?” he added.

Pezeshkian took the opportunity to express his condolences to the fatal victims of Saturday’s Israeli bombing of Iranian territory and defended “that those responsible for this hateful crime be brought to justice.”

Harder has been the president of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who has assured that Iran will respond to the Israeli attack. “Iran has the right to defend itself and respond to this Israeli aggression and evidently it will do so,” he said.

Qalibaf has also called on the United States, the “main aggressor” and the “Zionist regime” to put an end to the massacre of people in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
