Gazan authorities denounce the death of two children due to lack of oxygen at the Kamal Adwan Hospital

The Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), reported this Friday that two children have died in the intensive care unit of the besieged Kamal Adwan Hospital, in the north of the Palestinian enclave, due to to Israeli attacks against oxygen generators.

“Three ambulances and a transport vehicle have been destroyed, which has made rescue and transport operations difficult, and the electricity generation system with solar panels has been destroyed,” he added in a statement.

The current number of patients and injured in the besieged facilities is 195 while there are at least 70 healthcare workers. “Three nurses and a cleaning employee were injured during the events,” he added.

The authorities have reported that the Army has searched the facilities and has fired shots inside the different departments, “increasing the state of panic and anxiety.” “The current situation inside the Kamal Adwan hospital is deteriorating alarmingly,” he warned.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned shortly before that it no longer has any contact with the interior of the facilities. The assault began on Thursday night, first with airstrikes that hit the hospital and its surroundings.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had previously surrounded the center, blocking even the entry of supplies. The total number of people inside the building is 600, including patients, injured people, medical personnel and companions.
