MADRID 25 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army reported this Friday that three soldiers have died in the Palestinian city of Jabalia, in the north of the Gaza Strip, as a result of clashes with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

The soldiers, who belong to the 196th armed battalion, are Captain Barak Israel Sagan, 22, a native of the city of Petah Tikva; Sergeant Ido Ben Zvi, 21, originally from Kibbutz Shomrat, and Sergeant Hillel Ovadia, 22, who was from Jerusalem.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have explained that the three died when a bomb detonated against an Israeli tank, an incident that caused other soldiers to be injured and taken to hospital.

The Israeli offensive against Gaza was launched after the attacks of October 7, 2023, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped. The Gazan authorities, controlled by Hamas, have reported more than 42,800 deaths, to which are added nearly 750 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks carried out by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
