Qualcomm has presented several Snapdragon products with the new Oryon cores, the new top-of-the-range mobile processors Snapdragon 8 Elite and has also presented its smart vehicle solutions. But Arm is not satisfied with these results, since sued Qualcomm for using Nuvia licenses for Oryon cores without permission from Arm. Now we also know that, prior to the trial that will be held in December, Arm has announced that it will withdraw the license from Qualcomm.
arm has communicated to Qualcomm, with the mandatory 60 days in advancethat will withdraw the agreement of license that allows Qualcomm to use this architecture for your processors. Qualcomm has issued a statement in which show your disagreement with this action on Arm’s part and calls it a threat with the one they want earn more revenue from license payments. Qualcomm thinks Arm has made this decision to interrupt the trialgiven that you have no reason to withdraw your right to use Arm’s proprietary architecture.
Qualcomm is confident that the courts agree with himotherwise a judge can order stop shipping laptops with Snapdragon that these Nuvia Oryon cores have. Some analysts believe that the trial will not take place, since before they reach an agreement with which both companies benefit.
