Germany announces the delivery of 60 million euros of humanitarian aid to Lebanon

The Government of Germany has announced to the Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, the delivery of an additional 60 million euros in humanitarian aid to Lebanon, within the framework of the Israeli bombings that are aimed, they say, at the infrastructure of the Shiite party-militia. Lebanese Hezbollah, but which have already claimed the lives of more than 2,500 people.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made the announcement late on Wednesday during a phone call with Mikati, in which he also emphasized Berlin’s support for the next conference on Lebanon, which will be held this Thursday in Paris. which the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, plans to attend, as explained by the Government spokesperson, Steffen Hebestreit.

The conference aims to launch a political process, with the objectives of guaranteeing the security of the population in Israel and safeguarding the sovereignty of Lebanon, free of foreign influences.

The international aid conference in Paris will focus on providing support to the war-affected Lebanese population and rebuilding the country into a stable and functioning state. Participants include Lebanon’s international partners, the UN, the European Union and various regional and civil society organizations.
