Epic Games launches Fab, its new digital resource marketplace

Oct. 23 (Portaltic/EP) –

Epic Games has launched its new digital assets store, an open market aimed at developers where they can find elements for the games they are working on.

Fab unifies the Unreal Engine, Sketchfab, and Quixel Megascans marketplaces, offering digital assets for Unreal Engine, Unity 3D, Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), and other digital content creation tools.

In this space, developers will be able to “discover, buy, sell and share” elements such as “game resources, environments, visual effects, audio, animations, characters, plugins”, as the company details in its official blog.

Epic intends to add new file formats (including Minecraft and Roblox assets) and access to MetaHumans in the coming months. A frequently asked questions section and new ad review and analysis systems will also be added to improve the sales experience.

In addition, in 2025, a set of free content from the Megascans library will be enabled, which will initially contain more than 1,500 resources.
