Although one of the names that were rumored for this chip was Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the company has decided to bring the name “Elite” also to its catalog for smartphones, in this way the change in architecture along with the nomenclature is clear. .

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is a processor made up of 8 Oryon architecture cores distributed in two groups: On the one hand, we have two “Prime” cores with a maximum speed of 4.32 GHz for tasks that require more performance in 1 or 2 threads. On the other hand, six “Performance” cores are responsible for offering multi-core performance with less consumption at a maximum speed of 3.53 GHz.

It is manufactured at 3 nanometers at TSMC with its N3E process.

This distribution breaks with what we had in the previous Snapdragon 8, since they used to have three types of cores at different speeds, with a “Prime Core”, followed by P-Cores and E-Cores.

As for the cache, in total the Snapdragon 8 Elite has 24 MB of L2 cache, which is divided into 12 MB for the two Prime Cores and another 12 MB for the rest of the cores. In addition, the supported LPDDR5x RAM reaches 5.3 GHz.

This GPU is divided into three parts or “Slices” running at 1.1 GHz and sharing 12 MB of graphics memory.
