Spanish Radio Television (RTVE) continues its international expansion with the launch of rtveplay+ in Asia and Oceania, available from Tuesday, October 22. This international platform OTT video on demand offers premium content from the Corporation and extends its coverage: it sets out to conquer the two new continents mentioned above, even though it was already available globally in other territories.
Expansion of rtveplay+ to new territories
Until now, rtveplay+ was available in America and Europe, but with this new step, RTVE expands its presence in the international market, allowing more users to access its particular selection of audiovisual content. Viewers in new countries will be able to subscribe with monthly or annual payment options, and enjoy a seven-day free trial period.
Now, RTVE’s international platform will be available in countries such as Japan, India, Hong Kong, South Korea, India and Australia. All potential users in these countries will be able to access rtveplay+ and enjoy great productions like Tell me how it happened, HIT, The Promise or even the recently completed 4 Stars.

The platform offers a varied catalog, organized into different sections:
- seriesin the style Tell me how it happened, Acacias 38, Neboa, The Promise either The Law of the Sea
- Cinemawith the seal of RTVE in its collaboration with European culture
- Documentaries of all kinds: historical, nature or true crime
- Informativelike the Newscasts from The 1
- Entertainmentwith programs like The Summer Grand Prix either Of silk and iron
- Live channels: TVE Internacional, Canal 24 Horas, Clan and Star TVE
Additionally, premium content available on rtveplay+ aims to project the successful formats of Spanish public television towards new related markets.
Internationalization strategy
This launch is part of the internationalization strategy of RTVEwhich seeks to increase the reach of its content by overcoming territorial limitations. “As highlighted at the time of its launch, rtveplay+ represents a very important step in the strategy to expand the reach of the best Spanish Television content, overcoming territorial limitations and using all the resources that technology offers us,” the Corporation stated.
With more than 100,000 hours of premium contentthe platform is also operational in America, including the United States and Canada, as well as throughout the European continent. RTVE trust that rtveplay+ becomes a springboard to make known globally the Spanish audiovisual industrynow also with a presence in Asia and Oceania.
