The health transport sector has called off the strike that will start on October 28 in the rest of the transport sector (truckers and bus drivers), after reaching an agreement with the employers on the retirement age.
In this way, the cancellation only concerns ambulance drivers and other medical transport, while it remains active in the rest of the sectors, as announced this Monday by CCOO and UGT.
The agreement has been reached at the headquarters of the Interconfederal Mediation and Arbitration Service (SIMA), a public mediation body supervised by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, and contemplates requesting from the competent administration the initiation of the procedure established to implement the arbitration system. reducing coefficients at the retirement age in accordance with the provisions of current regulations.
The request is conditional on the signing of the state collective agreement for medical transportation of the sick and injured, which is currently being negotiated and will be presented 10 days after its publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The call for a joint strike throughout the transport sector calls for early retirement due to the danger of the profession. After October 28, the strikes will continue on November 11, 28 and 29, December 5 and 9, and will be indefinite as of December 23.
