Google has been working on its rival for ChatGPT’s conversation mode for months. It is called Gemini Live, and it could be used in English on any Gemini-compatible mobile phone. Today, October 21, Google announces its compatibility with Spanish, so conversations can now be held fluently in our language.
Specifically, Google tells us about an expansion to more than 40 additional languages compared to English, including Spanish. It is a function that is beginning to expand on Android phones and that will progressively reach all those compatible with Gemini.
To configure Gemini Live in Spanish we will have to perform the following steps.
- Open the Google app on your Android phone
- Click on your profile photo
- Press Settings > Google Assistant > Languages.
- Choose Spanish
The most normal thing is that, if you were using Gemini or the Google Assistant in its default configuration, you already have the Spanish language configured. Live is the most conversational interface, one in which we can talk on the phone as if it were a person, and with a much faster and more natural response capacity than the standard Gemini mode.
Live is a conversation mode in which we can talk to the AI about any topic, choosing between ten different voices. It is an alternative to take into account if we want some advice, information on any topic, ideas, expansion of knowledge, etc.
Like any new development, it will be done progressively. Gemini Live in Spanish starts arriving from today, but it may take a few hours or even a few days to appear to you. Make sure you have the Google app, Gemini app, and Google services on your phone updated.
