( Spanish) – The newspaper El Debate of Culiacán, capital of the Mexican state of Sinaloa, reported this Saturday the kidnapping of one of its delivery drivers which, according to the media in its X account, occurred after the worker was chased by a group of men and thrown from his motorcycle.
“Our colleague had been helped by another delivery man when he was forcibly taken away by individuals on the morning of October 19. “So far we know nothing about his whereabouts,” he said in a publication.
The newspaper also published a photo of the worker and asked for help in locating him. His name has not been released for security reasons.
The attack against the delivery driver was condemned this Saturday by the non-governmental organizations Article 19 and the Committee to Protect Journalists.
The incident occurs after this week the El Debate facilities were attacked with a firearm, according to authorities. The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha, said in his X account that he asked the Prosecutor’s Office and the State Security Secretariat to initiate investigations into what happened.
