Mexican consumption of goods and services falls in September

This timely indicator from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) offers a first estimate of the Monthly Indicator of Private Consumption, which is published nine weeks after the reference month, while the appropriate one is published two weeks after the end of the reference month. It also presents a second estimate, generally more precise, six weeks after the close of the reference month.

Thus, Inegi estimates an annual rate increase in private consumption of 2.7% for August and, for September, 1.8%.

What does Inegi measure private consumption?

This indicator measures the evolution of spending by households on consumer goods and services, both of national origin and imported into Mexico, according to information from Inegi.

With this, the Institute seeks to monitor on a monthly basis the contribution of this indicator to the growth of the economy.
