Almost 430,000 jobs have been created so far this year

Social Security gained 218,162 affiliates in the first half of October, according to the daily affiliation series until the 15th of this month published by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
Specifically, as of October 15, the system counted 21,362,158 contributors, compared to the 21,143,996 that existed at the end of September.
From mid-September to the first half of October, that is, in the last month, Social Security has gained 150,861 employees, going from the 21,211,297 contributors registered on September 13 to 21,362,158 as of October 15, according to reflects the daily membership statistics.
Discounting seasonality and the calendar effect, Social Security has gained almost 78,000 contributors in the last month (mid-October over mid-September).
Within the seasonally adjusted series, the total number of Social Security affiliates has increased by 492,679 in the last year and by 1.91 million people since before the start of the pandemic.
Since the start of 2024, more than 429,000 jobs have been created, a figure that, according to the Ministry, is in line with pre-pandemic levels and leaves the total number of affiliates, in the seasonally adjusted series, at 21,272,336 affiliates at the end of the first fortnight of October.
The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, has highlighted that the daily affiliation figures are now above the 21.3 million employed in October, “demonstrating the strength” of the Spanish labor market.
