A United States grand jury has indicted two Sudanese brothers this Wednesday of being behind the cybercriminal group ‘Anonymous Sudan’, which it accuses of being responsible for tens of thousands of attacks against critical infrastructure and government agencies, both in the United States and in other countries. of the world.

The accused are Ahmed Salá Yusif Omer, 22 years old, and Alá Salá Yusuf Omer, 27 years old. Both have been charged with conspiracy to damage protected computers, while the first of them has also been charged with three counts of damaging protected computers. If Ahmed is convicted of all charges he will face a maximum legal sentence of life in prison, while Allah will face a maximum of five years, according to a statement from the Department of Justice.

Among the group’s objectives were, in addition to the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense and the Department of State, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the websites of the state of Alabama.
