OnePlus 13 will incorporate a screen capable of using different refresh rates simultaneously

OnePlus has announced that its new ‘smarthpone’ OnePlus 13 will be equipped with a screen that will improve the quality of image viewing and optimize battery consumption, by incorporating the ability to Use different refresh rates for different areas of the panel simultaneously.

The technology company plans to launch its next flagship smartphone this Octoberwhich is expected to arrive with the “latest generation of flagship chips” developed with customized technology to offer high performance, as announced in September.

OnePlus has teased new features about OnePlus 13, which will have a screen capable of taking the “fluid experience to the next level”, thanks to a new frequency update function capable of using different rates for different areas at the same time.

As the company has explained in a publication on the Chinese social network Weibo, This feature will allow different refresh rates to be used in different areas of the same screen, allowing for better better image viewing and “smoother” operation.

To do this, you will use a self-developed LTPO 8T display circuit technology with which you will allow a screen refresh rate that you have defined as “multi-scene and multi-level.”

That is, this feature will allow a high refresh rate in areas of the panel where it is necessary to ensure smooth viewing of the images and, at the same time, a lower rate where more static images are displayed, optimizing the battery consumption of the smartphone.

This is an innovative function since, although smartphones already have screens with adaptive refresh rates, the same refresh rate is always used uniformly across the entire screen.

However, with this feature, the OnePlus 13 could, for example, display content at 120Hz in a specific area of the screen, while lowering the frequency to 10Hz in other parts, automatically adjusting to the needs of the content.

Likewise, OnePlus has also stressed that the screen of the new smartphone will offer a “industry-leading” outdoor tactile experience, and ensures that it will work optimally in both wind and snow situations.
