MADRID 16 Oct. () –
The Government of France has asked the Euronaval show, which will bring together companies in the Defense sector in November, not to authorize the formal participation of Israeli firms, a political decision that the Israeli Executive has been quick to oppose, which believes that “President (Emmanuel) Macron’s actions are a disgrace.”
Just one day after both countries exchanged reproaches for statements in which Macron reminded Israel that it owes its existence to the United Nations, a new political front has been opened after Euronaval reported in a statement that the Government wants Israeli delegations attend “without stands or exhibition of materials.”
It affects a total of “seven companies”, according to the organizers’ statement, reported by the TF1 network. The show, which takes place from November 4 to 7, brings together around 500 companies and expects to receive 22,000 visitors.
“President Macron’s actions are a disgrace for the French nation and for the values of the free world that he claims to respect,” said Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who considers that the decision made known this Wednesday “discriminates” against companies. of his country and “helps the enemies” in the midst of war.
“It is based on the decision to apply an arms embargo on the Jewish State,” Gallant added, alluding to Macron’s public calls to limit the shipment of military equipment to Israel and avoid its potential use in conflict scenarios such as the Gaza Strip or Lebanon.
The Israeli Government has accused the French of implementing a “childish policy” and warns: “We will continue to defend our nation against enemies on seven different fronts and fight for our future, with or without France.”
