The Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araqchi, will soon visit Jordan, Egypt and Turkey as part of a tour that began at the beginning of October and with which he seeks to “end the genocide” unleashed by Israeli forces against the Gaza Strip. .
Thus, the head of Iranian diplomacy will try to exert the greatest possible pressure on the countries of the region to put an end to the “atrocity and aggression” faced by the Palestinian people who still remain in the enclave, as has been done. indicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its account on the social network X.
Previously, the minister has traveled to Iraq, Lebanon, Oman, Syria and Saudi Arabia, where he has addressed Israel’s “crimes.” The tour will thus resume after a stop in Tehran, the Iranian capital, where Araqchi is currently located.
In this sense, he has stressed that the Iranian authorities are prepared to offer a “decisive response” against Israel in the event of new attacks against Iranian territory and has insisted that Tehran’s position on Gaza is based on “putting an end to fighting” and “achieving an acceptable and agreed ceasefire on the part of the resistance”, in reference to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which controls the Palestinian enclave.
Hostilities in the region erupted after Hamas and other Palestinian factions launched a series of attacks against Israel on October 7 that left nearly 1,200 dead and more than 250 hostages. The Israeli Army then began a bloody military campaign against Gaza that has so far left nearly 42,350 dead and more than 99,000 injured, in addition to more than 700 Palestinian deaths in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The attacks of October 7, called ‘Al Aqsa Flood’ by Hamas and its allies, also led to the opening of the front on the border between Israel and Lebanon, with constant fighting for more than eleven months that led on Tuesday to the beginning of a new invasion of Lebanese territory.
