At least six people have been injured after a fire that broke out after a tanker collided with a gasoline tank at the Pars Petro oil refinery in the city of Shushtar, located in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan. of the country.
The provincial governor, Mohsen Musavi, has explained that most of the fire has already been controlled and that emergency services are cleaning and securing the facility, as reported by the Tasnim news agency.
Furthermore, he explained that the flames have not caused any deaths and that the injured have been transferred to the Shushtar hospital and the Ahvaz hospital. However, sources consulted by the IRNA agency point to a death, although it has not been officially confirmed.
The authorities have also confirmed that the fire has not spread to other oil tanks and that the accident occurred as a result of the “lack of attention to safety precautions” when refueling.
