North Korea this Wednesday estimated at more than 1.4 million young people who have joined the North Korean Army in the last 48 hours, coinciding with an increase in tension on the peninsula and after announcing a “permanent” closure of the ‘de facto’ border with South Korea.

According to data collected by the North Korean news agency KCNA, this number of requests has taken place between Monday and Tuesday (October 14 and 15) due to the “will to annihilate the scum” of South Korea “that committed “a serious violation of North Korean sovereignty through the infiltration of a drone into the capital to bring the tense situation to the brink of war.”

“If a war breaks out, the Republic of Korea will be wiped off the map. The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, called a security meeting on Monday to address the alleged incursion of South Korean drones into North Korean territory, an issue that he has called a “serious provocation” and a “violation of sovereignty.” from North Korea, although Seoul insists that no such deployments occurred.

In recent weeks, North Korean authorities have sent numerous garbage balloons across the border, prompting Seoul to resume propaganda broadcasts over loudspeakers for the first time in six weeks, as well as its live-fire drills near the border. , activities to which are added the joint military maneuvers with the United States.

North Korea has also been increasing its launches of ballistic missiles and other projectiles in recent years, operations they describe as “warnings” against the actions of Seoul, with whom it has not yet signed a peace agreement despite the fact that the war of Korea ended in 1953 with an armistice.
