Apple has presented the new generation of its iPad mini, which arrives with important improvements in performance and new capabilities of artificial intelligence. The device, which maintains its compact design with an 8.3-inch screen, now incorporates the A17 Pro chip, the same one used by the iPhone 15 Pro.
To give you a slight idea, this processor represents the leap that everyone expects in performance, with a 30% faster CPU and a 25% more powerful GPU than its predecessor. In addition, the Neural Engine, responsible for artificial intelligence tasks, doubles its speed.
Continuing with the news, it is worth highlighting compatibility with the Apple Pencil Pro, which adds top features such as pressure detection to change tools or colors without touching the screen.
The iPad mini also improves its connectivity, incorporating WiFi 6E and, in models with mobile connection, eSIM instead of a physical SIM card.

On the other hand, the 12-megapixel rear camera now includes Intelligent HDR 4 and machine learning document detection and scanning capabilities. The front camera maintains its 12 megapixels and the Centered Framing function for video calls.
Comment that comes with iPadOS 18which brings with it new features such as a specific calculator for iPad and improvements to the Notes app.
Apple has also announced that the device will be compatible with Apple Intelligencebringing to the device all kinds of AI functions that will be implemented little by little starting this month such as Image Playground, Graphic Wand, Genmoji, Siri and ChatGPT.
Regarding the expected prices, the iPad mini starts from the 599 euros for the 128 GB model with WiFi —769 euros in the model with WiFi + Cellular—, double the storage than the previous version. It will be available in four colors, including new blue and purple tones – in addition to white and gray -, starting October 23.
