At least one person has died and three others have been injured in a shooting that took place this Tuesday morning on a highway near the city of Ashdod, in southern Israel, according to a preliminary report provided by medical sources.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported that the attack took place shortly after 11:00 (local time). A 30-year-old person was already evacuated from the area in critical condition and died on the way to the hospital – according to sources cited by ‘The Jerusalem Post’, he is an Israeli Police agent.
The emergency services evacuated two other people who were direct victims of the shooter and a fourth injured person identified as a doctor who was traveling through the area with his vehicle and who, when stopping to provide first emergency aid, was hit by another car, reports the ‘Times of Israel’ newspaper.
